| Our Mission and Beliefs |
Our Mission
To make disciples of Jesus Christ by reaching out to those who do not know him and by strengthening those who do, that they might live lives of courageous witness to Christ in both word and deed.
Our Core Beliefs and Values
-
We believe that the Christian congregation exists to build a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ around the Word and Sacraments for the purpose of reaching out and bringing people into a living and personal relationship with Christ.
-
We believe that the Holy Spirit works through the written, inspired, and infallible Word of Holy Scripture and through the divinely appointed Sacraments to accomplish his purposes. God's truth is made known truthfully and reliably through Holy Scripture alone and not through societal trends, the opinions of people, or claims of personal inspiration.
-
We believe that the core belief and central teaching of the Christian faith is that we are put right before God by God's grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ.
-
We believe followers of Jesus Christ will demonstrate their faith by their deeds in daily life and will give evidence of the fruits of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
-
We believe that each Christian is gifted by the Holy Spirit for works of Christian service for the edifying of the Body of Christ, the church, and that we are called by God to lives that have eternal significance.
-
We believe that Christian leadership finds importance not in popularity, but in faithfulness to the mission of the church as we seek to serve in the name and stead of Christ.
-
We are committed to a ministry of prayer for, with, and by one another.
-
We are committed to excellence in the Lord's service as we seek to maintain high standards of excellence in all our our activities and as we use our God-given gifts to the very best of our ability.
-
We are committed to growth, believing that life is meant to be given away and that the church exists to share Christ with others.

| Our Worship |
Essential to true worship is to know that God is doing the primary action and that we are the receivers of God's action on our behalf. Worship, therefore, is not merely a form of passive, religious entertainment. It is the believer's response to God's love in Christ with the active participation by all those present for the public worship activity.
The Lutheran Church is a liturgical church, using orders of worship that Christians have used for centuries to respond to God's goodness, grace, and generosity. A Lutheran service is one that is built on the article of Justification by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a service that expounds the Word of God as both Law and Gospel. It is centered in the reading of Scripture and its' exposition and in the administration of the divinely Sacraments. The following would be the barest essentials for a Divine Service in the Lutheran Church:
- Confession and Absolution (not essential immediately following a week of penitence, such as Holy Week, or when it's implied by other previous rites).
- Praise and Prayer.
- Reading of the Word of God (according to a standardized system).
- Exposition of the Word of God (Sermon).
- Prayer for all sorts and conditions and offering of the people.
- Preface and consecration of bread and wind with the Words of Institution.
- Reception of the Sacrament of the Alter.
- Dismissal with the Lord's blessing.
The Lutheran Church regards with esteem the historic and time-honored liturgies of the church and thereby expresses its connection with the church of all times and all places. There is room for much variety within the theological parameters of the church. The Augsburg Confession (a confessional writing of the Lutheran Church accepted as a true exposition of the teachings of Holy Scripture) states, "For the true unity of the church it is enough to agree concerning the teachings of the Gospel and the administration of the sacraments. It is not necessary that human traditions or rites and ceremonies, instituted by men, should be alike everywhere." (AC, VII)
In accordance with Scripture and the confessional writings of the Lutheran Church, we recognize The Divine Service of Holy Communion to the the chief service of the church and the highest form of worship available to us in this life.
Holy Communion - All baptized Christians who accept the real and actual presence of the body and blood of Christ with the bread and the wine in the Sacrament, who acknowledge their sinfulness and trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins are welcome to receive Holy Communion with us during either service for the strengthening of their faith and all the blessings promised by our Lord who said, "Do this in remembrance of me." Children may be brought to the Communion table for a blessing.
