Redeemer Youth Ministry Vision
By partnering youth and adults,
Redeemer Youth Ministry
Prepares youth for a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ:
Growing in faith in prayer, worship and devotion
Connecting people in a Christian environment
Serving our church & community to reach out with God’s love
To follow God where He leads us now and forever.
WHERE HE LEADS US...
| *Just like the pieces of a puzzle, these key elements are a piece of the big picture
for a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.*
*Apart from the other pieces, it cannot show the big picture and true focus of life until they are all brought together – only by the cross of Christ.*

Youth Leadership Team |
Each year 4 youth are chosen to be on the Youth Leadership Team. Usually 2 Jr. High & 2 Sr. High - boys and girls. The purpose of the team is not just to plan and carry out those plans, but mainly it is to grow in their character, action and influence as a leader for today and tomorrow's church. Youth learn to follow God in order to guide others to Him.

Underground |
Underground is the "official" name for our Sunday evening youth gatherings for 7th-12th graders. It's called Underground because it meets...underground, in the basement youth room. The deeper meaning to the name is that Underground is a vehicle for helping youth develop a relationship with God that is rooted, built up and strengthened in Christ leading to a life that overflows with love, Christian service and witness, and thankfulness (Colossians 2:6-7). Each Underground gathering includes a light dinner, praise and worship, small-group Bible study, fun and fellowship. |

Bible Class
aka 'the Rock' |
Sunday mornings 7th-9th graders gather in the Old Library
(by the Fellowship Hall) for Bible study. 'The Rock' is the name of the class - named by students - with a large paper mache' rock as a reminder of Jesus being the solid Rock of our Salvation. Topics include current issues, topics and biblical studies. We use video, small group discussion, reading and music to engage youth in different ways. All studies are founded in God's word and are aimed at continuing development of faith. |

Servant Projects |
Believing that we are called to serve in Jesus' name, regular opportunities for service are provided each year. Examples include an annual shopping spree for needy families through the Olathe Salvation Army, fall leaf raking for elderly members, Christmas shop
and clean up with Metro Lutheran Mission in Kansas City
and projects with the Olathe Good Samaritan Center.

Confirmation |
Knowing our faith is a journey and that our church body is here to equip us to serve God as we grow in faith, we offer a two year Confirmation Program for 7th & 8th Graders. The Pastors and Youth Minister walk youth through the Bible and Small Catechism (10 Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, Communion, Baptism, Creeds, Confession & Absolution and Office of the Keys). Your parents walk with you too, so that they can be reminded of the richness of God's grace and help lead you closer to Him through this process.

Fundraising |
In order for us to keep costs down for our trips and other activities, we do fundraising events througout the year. We make it our goal to not just sell something, but to make the fundraiser service-oriented, so that youth can grow more
in-depth than just achieving a monetary goal.
We serve Advent (before Christmas) and Lent (before Easter) dinners, sponsor a Chili cook-off, host the Easter Breakfast, invite partnerships with local businesses, babysitting (Parents Night Out), recycle ink cartridges...
